Mariano James Amodio, 98, of North Haven passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at St. Raphael’s Hospital.  He was the husband of Angelina Rose Fusco Amodio.  Born in New Haven on August 1, 1911; a son of the late Pasquale and Natalina Savo Amodio.  Mariano retired in 1974 from Yellow Freight which was the former Adley Express; he was a charter member #24 of the Teamster’s Local #443; he enjoyed growing fresh vegetables in his garden and in his later life, enjoyed being active with his new friends at the Clelian Adult Day Care Center.  Father of James Amodio of Hamden, Dr. Michael Amodio and his wife Catherine of North Haven.  Grandfather of James Amodio of Wallingford, David Amodio of New York City, Michael Amodio of Milan, Italy, Kristen Amodio of North Haven and Steven Amodio of Burkina Faso, Africa.  Great-grandfather of Avery Amodio of Wallingford.  Brother of Dominic Amodio of Wallingford and the late Frank, Anthony & Louis Amodio, Anna Verna and Rose Scafariello.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Ave., North Haven on Thursday morning at 11:00 to attend a Mass of Christian Burial and are also invited to attend the Committal Services immediately following in All Saints Cemetery.  The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Clelian Adult Day Care Center, 261 Benham St., Hamden, CT  06514.
