Eva Mary Merlone Amendola, 83, of London Drive, Hamden passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford.  Wife of the late Salvatore Amendola.  Born in New Haven on December 3, 1926; daughter of the late Carlo and Anna Tartaglino Merlone.  Eva had worked at the former Farber’s Pharmacy for 20 years and later at Quinnipiac University for 10 years until her retirement.  She was a member of the Hamden Fish & Game; was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening especially her African Violets.  Mother of Melodee “Bunny”(Louis) Caruso of Hamden, Carl (DeDe) Amendola of New Haven and the late Richard Amendola.  Grandmother of Theresa-Ann(David)Woyciesjes, Stephanie (Erik) Magnuson, Dakim, Lady, Strawberry and Donovan.  Great-grandmother of Salvator Woyciesjes and Louis Magnuson.  Sister of Adeline Ullrich of Alaska and the late, Mildred Palmieri, Rose Verneris, Lucy Lilly, Edith Tosetti, Steven, Frank, Emilio, Edward and John Merlone.

Funeral Services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Tuesday morning at 11:00.  Family and friends may call from 9:30 am until time of service.  Interment will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, 33 North Plains Industrial Rd., Wallingford, CT  06492.
