Joseph R. Simiola, 87, of Palmer Road, North Haven, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the VAMC, West Haven.  He was the husband of Mary Christoforo Simiola.  Born in New Haven on March 17, 1923; son of the late Antonio and Teresa Cerrato Simiola.  Joe had worked for the former Adley’s Express for many years; was a member of the Teamsters Local #443; he served his country faithfully in the US Army during WW II having fought in the Battle of the Bulge and Normandy; was a member of the D.A.V.  Joe was active serving lunches to the homeless with the Midnight Run; he was a designated shopper for many shut-ins; was a parishioner of St. Therese Church.  Father of Terri (Bob) Murphy of North Haven and Mary Rose Dinan of Wallingford.  Grandfather of Kristina (James) Kehlenbach of East Hampton, Laura Beth and Sarah Lynn Dinan of Wallingford.  Predeceased by sisters Ann Sapiente & Raffaella Bordonali, and brothers Frank, Michael and Carmen Simiola.
